Kari Ghatta - Near Srirangapattana

Kari Ghatta:

In kannada Kari means Black and Ghatta means small hill, so KariGhatta means, black hill. This hill is located near Srirangapattana, near to Mysore.

Karighatta is just few hundred meters away from Bangalore-Mysore road, at near Srirangapattana.
Near to this hill river Cuavery, river Lokapavani (tributary of Cauvery river)  flows and there is one water canal flows surrounding this hill. You can see the spectacular view of these water flow, just like a snake, on the way to top of hill.

There is a good, winding road (rather it is good to say snake like road) from bottom of the hill to top of the hill. Also there is a steps that links bottom of the hill to top of the hill, those who can walk, and want to enjoy the beauty of the nature, it is good to take the steps, you can have chat with your fellow and enjoy the nature, take snap, sit on steps, take good, long breath(of course this is what each human enjoy more, except those who do not want to walk...)

The hill is mostly covered with grass which is almost 2 meter high, in local, it is called Dharbe, and this grass is to do auspicious work in India. The speciality of this hill is this grass, as this kind of grass is rare to find in other hill, that too in this quantity.

On top of this hill, Lord Srinivasa temple is there, it is very old temple and it is in good condition and priest do pooja on time. The temple is quite and away from city noise, so you can enjoy the piece and silence at this temple premise.

Temple Timing :  10:00 AM to 2:00 PM and evening from 4:00 PM to 6:30PM
